Value‐oriented quality metrics in software development: Practical relevance from a software engineering perspective

When following the principles of value-based software engineering, business, customer satisfaction, and engineering considerations need to be balanced develop operate so that it satisfies different stakeholders' expectations. This, however, requires knowing relevant quality metrics covering these value-oriented expectations potential sources for their measurement. In this work, a categorisation are practically is presented. Therefore, authors conducted an online survey with practitioners who assessed relevance 61 metrics, gathered from preceding systematic mapping study. The grouped into 10 categories, based on financial, value proposition, creation perspectives. Also, examined frequency particular steps at which measures accrue identified most data sources. participants rated feature reliability, performance, as well test development efficiency orientation. According participants, authors' collection covers all addressing financial market usability aspects. metrics' assessments shall support engineers in selecting product development.
